live well or live hell. we choose.

You’re on a journey. The journey is life. The destination is Paradise or Hell. The path you take on your journey will determine your destination. The length of your journey is not fixed; it will vary for each individual with some arriving at their destination in their youth whereas other will reach old age before they arrive. Yet one thing for certain is that everyone WILL arrive at their destination.

The Prophet (s.a.w) said

”What have I got to do with the material world. The example of the material world and I is that of a traveller. Travelling in the afternoon heat, he stopped to rest under the shade of a tree for some moments. Then, he rose and left it.”- (Ahmad, Tirmidhi. The hadith is Hasan.)

Ibn Umar narrates: one day I was with the Messenger of Allah (s.a.w.) He then turned to me, held my shoulders with both of his blessed hands, and said:

“Be in this life like a stranger or a traveller.”

And whenever Ibn Umar narrated this to his disciples he would add:

“If you reach the evening, do not await (to be alive) by dawn, And if you reach dawn, do not await (to be alive) by evening. Take advantage of your Health before you fall sick. And take advantage of your life, before you die” (Bukhari)

Every day that goes by, you get nearer to your destination. Some people have understood – spending every minute preparing with the best of provisions.

However many are ignorant and heedless and take with them only that which will burden them.

Ali (r.a) once stood at the head of a grave and said to his companion,

“If he had a chance to return to this life, what do you think he would do?” His companion replied, “He would do nothing but good deeds.” Ali (r.a) then said, “If it is not going to be him, then let it be you.”

Al Fudayl ibn Iyaadh (r.a) once sat with a senior and asked him,

How old are you?

The man replied, 60 years old.

Did you know, said Al Fudayl, that for 60 years you have been travelling towards your Lord, and that you have almost arrived. The man was reduced to silence. He whispered, “Inna lillaahi wa Inna Ilayhi Raajioon” (To Allah we belong and to Him we return).

Al Fudayl asked, Do you know the meaning of that statement. You are saying that you are

Allah’s slave and that to Him you are returning. Whoever knows that he is the slave of Allah, and that to Him he shall return, should know that he shall be stopped on the day of judgement.

And whoever knows that he will be  stopped, let him also know that he will be responsible for what he did in life. And whoever knows that he will be responsible for what he did, let him know that he will be questioned. And whoever knows that he will be questioned, let him prepare an answer now!

What then shall I do? asked the man.

It is simple, said Al Fudayl. Do good in what is left of your life, forgiven shall be your past. If not, you shall be taken to account for the past and what is to come.

Ibn Abbas (r.a) heard the Prophet (s.a.w) advising someone saying,

“Take advantage of five before five: Your youth before your old age, your health before your sickness, your wealth before your poverty, your free time before you become occupied, and your life before your death.”

What will our destination be? Let us prepare while we are on the journey before we arrive and there is no turning back.

Coz I believe, (picture)

When you're searching for the light

And you see no hope in sight
Be sure and have no doubt
He's always close to you

He's the one who knows you best
He knows what's in your heart
You'll find your peace at last
If you just have faith in Him

You're always in my heart and mind
Your name is mentioned every day
I'll follow you no matter what
My biggest wish is to see you one day

Coz I believe

In a man who used to be
So full of love and harmony
He fought for peace and liberty
And never would he hurt anything
He was a mercy for mankind
A teacher till the end of time
No creature could be compared to him
So full of light and blessings

If you lose your way

Believe in a better day
Trials will come
But surely they will fade away
If you just believe
What is plain to see
Just open your heart
And let His love flow through

Do not be sad: Seek forgiveness from Allah Often, for your Lord is Oft-Forgiving.

(I [Noah] said [to them]: 'Ask forgiveness from your Lord; verily; He is Oft-Forgiving. He will send rain to you in abundance; and give you increase in wealth and children; and bestow on you gardens; and bestow on you rivers. (Qur'an 71: 10-12)

So seek forgiveness from Allah more often and you will reap the benefits of doing so: peace of mind, lawful provisions, righteous offspring, and plentiful rain.

(And [commanding you]: 'Seek the forgiveness of your Lord, and turn to Him in repentance, that He may grant you good enjoyment, for a term appointed. And that He may bestow His abounding Grace to every owner of grace [i.e. the one who helps and serves the needy and deserving, physically and with his wealth, and even with good words].)
(Qur'an 11: 3)

And the Prophet (Blessings and Peace be upon him) said:

"Whosoever seeks forgiveness (from Allah) often, then Allah makes for him a good ending for every matter of concern and provides for him a way out of every tight situation. "

Related in Bukhari is a hadith that is known as the chief of Al-lstighfaar (i.e., of supplications with which one asks Allah for forgiveness):

"O' Allah, You are my Lord and none has the right to be worshipped except you. You have created me and I am your slave; and I am upon your covenant and promise as much as I am able to be. I seek refuge in you from the evil that I have perpetrated. I confess to you your favor upon me, and I confess to you my sin. So forgive me; for verily, none forgives sins except you."

Husnul Fikri - Preview

nantikan~

Read Quran, Charge your Iman

jom charge Iman, =)

Sepatutnya saya ingin tulis dalam lukisan diatas 'Quran compass of the life', tapi 'read Quran charge your iman' pun ok juga.

Begini kisahnya,

An old American Muslim lived on a farm in the mountains of eastern Kentucky with his

young grandson. Each morning Grandpa was up early sitting at the kitchen table reading

his Quran. His grandson wanted to be just like him and tried to imitate him in every way

he could.

One day the grandson asked, “Grandpa! I try to read the Quran just like you but I don’t

understand it, and what I do understand I forget as soon as I close the book. What good

does reading the Qur’an do?”

The Grandfather quietly turned from putting coal in the stove and replied, “Take this coal

basket down to the river and bring me back a basket of water. The boy did as he was

told, but all the water leaked out before he got back to the house. The grandfather

laughed and said, “You’ll have to move a little faster next time,” and sent him back to the

river with the basket to try again.

This time the boy ran faster, but again the basket was empty before he returned home.

Out of breath, he told his grandfather that it was impossible to carry water in a basket,

and he went to get a bucket instead.

The old man said, “I don’t want a bucket of water; I want a basket of water. You’re just

a ganot trying hard enough,” and he went out the door to watch the boy try in.

At this point, the boy knew it was impossible, but he wanted to show his grandfather that

even if he ran as fast as he could, the water would leak out before he got back to the

house. The boy again dipped the basket into river and ran hard, but when he reached his

grandfather the basket was again empty. Out of breath, he said, “See Grandpa, it’s

useless!”

“So you think it is useless?” The old man said, “Look at the basket.”

The boy looked at the basket and for the first time realized that the basket was different.

It had been transformed from a dirty old coal basket and was now clean, inside and out.

Son, that’s what happens when you read the Qur’an. You might not understand or

remember everything, but when you read it, you will be changed, inside and out. That is

the work of Allah in our lives.”

ilustrasi: jihad is our road

Allah SWT berfirman, Ertinya:

(Surah Al-Hujarat: ayat 15) Ertinya:

conteng-conteng: terbang tinggi

Kau perlahan-lahan melangkahkan kaki
Cuba mendaki sejauh lelangit yang tinggi
Seperti mereka yang telah merasa
Terbang tinggi apa pengertiannya

Hidupnya bagaikan insan yang asing
Si musafir berkelana di bumi yang lain
Tiada bermegah tidak terlalu lemah
Sebaik perkara yang sederhana

Katakan hidup dengan pujian manusia
Atau mati dengan cacian mereka
Pengertian hidup bukanlah apa yang kau sangka

Jangan kesal jangan sesal dengan siapa sebenarnya kita
Dan terbang tinggi di langit yang luas
Terima dirimu seadanya

Jangan caci pada si dia hina
Jangan benci pada yang tak mengertinya
Kasihanilah dia yang tak menghayatinya
Jangan takut kiranya kau berbeza

Perbezaanya kita ilmu dan sikah
Mungkin kelak kau akn mengertinya
Pengertian hidup bukanlah apa yang kau sangka

Jangan sesal jangan kesal
Jangan kesal jangan sesal
Terima dirimu seadanya
Dan terbang tinggi dilangit yg luas

Terbang tinggi- "You won't live by others' compliments, Or die by their contempt."
